St. Louis-based metal band, Path to Midian, has just released a music video and is gearing up for an exhilarating live performance at Miner’s Theater in Collinsville, IL, on Saturday, June 15th. Known for their intense energy and powerful melodies, Path to Midian continues to make waves in the metal scene, combining old-school influences with modern metal elements.

The journey to create their latest music video was not without its hurdles. Lead guitarist Paul Dontigney Jr. shared insights into the production process, highlighting the numerous challenges the band faced. “Finding actors, securing enough outfits and props, and coordinating everyone’s schedules were significant obstacles,” he explained. Operating on a tight budget forced the band to improvise creatively, a testament to their dedication and resourcefulness.

Despite these challenges, scouting locations proved to be a smooth process. “We shot all the scenes at Miner’s Theater in Collinsville, IL,” Dontigney noted. The historic venue provided a versatile backdrop, from the theater area to the smaller stage where Bruce Morrison’s scenes were filmed. Even the van scenes were conveniently shot outside the theater’s back entrance.

The concept for the video, inspired by George Orwell’s dystopian classic “1984,” came from the creative mind of August Evvi from Alice Media Group. “We gave him almost total control over the video’s theme and our attire,” said Dontigney. Post-production primarily involved adding effects and green screen elements, expertly handled by Alice Media Group to create a visually captivating final product.

Path to Midian’s upcoming show at Miner’s Theater is highly anticipated, marking their return to the stage. “It’s going to be great to get back onstage and rock the house,” Dontigney enthused. The band is eager to connect with new fans and reunite with familiar faces. Sharing the stage with Path to Midian will be Red Tape Riot, a band hand-picked by the group for their dynamic style and performance.

Path to Midian, formed in 2022, first gained attention with their debut single “The Morning After,” released on Halloween of that year. Comprising seasoned musicians from the Greater St. Louis area, the band features lead vocalist Bruce Morrison, guitarists Erik Spiller and Paul Dontigney, and drummer Mark Nicol. Their music blends brutal intensity with melodic undertones, exploring themes of war, politics, religion, and apocalypse.

Bruce Morrison, also known for leading the 1980s Belleville metal band Bronx Zoo, brings a unique vocal style influenced by a diverse musical background. Morrison’s powerful and soulful vocals set Path to Midian apart in the metal genre.
