Mascoutah City Pool Closed for Safety Maintenance

Mascoutah  — The City of Mascoutah has temporarily closed its public swimming pool due to a safety and maintenance issue. City Manager Cody Hawkins announced the closure after the discovery of a potential foreign material in the pool. While it poses no health risk, the pool will be drained, cleaned, and refilled as a precaution to prevent any possible injuries.

“We have a safety/maintenance issue that will require the pool to be drained, cleaned and refilled. It is not a health issue, it is a possible foreign material in the pool. We are being cautious to prevent any possible injury to patrons of the pool.” said Hawkins. The pool will remain closed for an undetermined period, and the city is working diligently to address the issue.
