The question is what is your lucky number? This Thursday, June 27 will be the twelfth week for people to try and find the Queen of Hearts in the weekly 50/50 Raffle hosted by the new 50 N 4 Events meeting place located by ACE Hardware in Lebanon.

How does it work? You sign up for a number. This will stay the same each week. Each week you need to buy at least one ($1) raffle ticket. Your ticket then goes into a drum that is spun and a lucky ticket is drawn. The drum is emptied each week, tickets are only good for the week purchased. Next the ticket winner goes to the board and selects his/her lucky number. If the number is scratched off and the queen of hearts is revealed the ticket holder wins the pot. Presently there are 54 playing cards. The picture shows the current numbers that have been selected. If your number is not scratched in the picture with this article, you may want to try to play and experience the chance to scratch your number.

This is the third time the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce has sponsored a Queen of Hearts drawing. The first event came down to four cards left and the jackpot was close to $88,000. I was able to pull a card on the 18th week of this drawing. I chose card 11 and was not a winner. It was a unique experience since no one in the room wants you to win except your girlfriend or spouse. (lol) The crowd was delighted with my selection and the event goes on to next week.

The previous two Queen of Hearts events were held at the Summerfield Lions Club.  This time the event is being held at the new 50 N 4 Events center. Bill Millikin, owner of the 50 N 4 with his wife, Ann, have been donating the meeting place each week to the chamber. “We thought this would be a chance for people to see 50 N 4 Events. We also have different food vendors each week so folks can socialize, have a fun time with the raffle, get a few drinks and get to try different foods. So far it has worked well for us. “We have gotten several rentals for the facility from folks’ word of mouth participating in the Queen of Hearts event,” said Millikin.

What is the chamber going to do with their share of the money? The answer is a brand-new Marquee sign for the City of Lebanon. Chamber Vice President David Tate has been instrumental with the event each week. “The Chamber’s goal is to make $27,000 to $28,000.  Some of Queen of Hearts Raffles have reached a $1 million dollar jackpot. Right now we just want to get the jackpot to $28,000 so we can get the new sign,” said Tate. As the weeks grow there will be a time if you do not have a number you will not be able to play, so Mr. Tate encourages people to try the event sooner rather than later. “It is a good time to meet new people, visit with old friends and eat and drink reasonably,” added Tate.

Next week the jackpot starts at $3285 and will continue to grow. There is also a 50/50 drawing each week which also benefits the Chamber. The doors open each Thursday at 5:00 pm and the 50/50 drawing and Queen of Hearts drawing are both done at 7:00 pm. Try your luck or better yet have a good evening of socializing with friends and family. You must be 18 years old to participate in the raffle.
