Events kicked off at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 14 for New Baden’s annual June Jamboree, starting with great food, a colorful carnival and an 8 p.m. performance by the Cheers Band that lasted well into the night. There were dozens of rides and games friendly for kids and adults, as well as the Park Boosters’ 50/50 Raffle, food and drink stands by the New Baden Jaycees and plenty of lemon shake-ups.
At 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 15 the Park Boosters hosted their 24th annual 5k Run/Walk with over a hundred participants. There was a classic car and bike show from noon to 4 p.m. and a parade at 5 p.m., and the party continued with all the fixings as well as an 8 p.m. performance by the Bacon band set to rock-n’-roll. Good weather and a great atmosphere on both Friday and Saturday proved the event a big success as the bands electrified the crowds, the food ensured no empty stomachs and the rides generated lots of joyful screaming.
