Mascoutah – The Leu Civic Center held it’s latest wrestling event on Saturday, September 22, as New Genesis Wrestling (NGW) presented “Eye of the Storm 2024”, an event packed with intense rivalries and high-stakes action.
The night kicked off with Logan Ridge defeating Navi Kai, setting the stage for what would be a series of hard-fought matches. The Taco World Order took home a victory over TJ Kellis and “The Diamond” Marco Hendrixxx in a fast-paced tag team match that had the crowd on their feet.
Alister Crow earned a decisive win against Dir Kolthar, while Tobias Storm, flanked by Jason Halbert and Logan Ridge, retained his NGW Lightning Division Championship after defeating Bud Galloway, who was supported by Dònde Estoy. The Fam kept their stronghold on the NGW Tag Team Championships, triumphing over The Great Heathen Army in another thrilling defense.
In a notable match, Playboy Double H, accompanied by PYT, secured a victory against CW Graves, continuing his rise in NGW.
The evening’s tension escalated as co-CEO Jason Halbert informed Dexter Roswell that he would need to defeat Logan Ridge to earn a shot at the NGW Heavyweight Championship. In a hard-fought battle, Roswell managed to beat Ridge, securing his chance at the title. However, Roswell’s triumph was short-lived, as Chris Kade, fresh from his National Championship football game, immediately entered the ring for his title defense. With The New Deal in his corner, Kade successfully retained the NGW Heavyweight Championship in a match that left the fans stunned.
To cap off the night, co-CEO Phoenix made an exciting announcement: at “Forsaken”, the final NGW event of 2024, Roswell will have one more shot at the NGW Heavyweight Championship. Scheduled for October 19 at the Leu Civic Center, “Dexter vs Kade 2” will take place with The New Deal banned from ringside. Fans were also thrilled to learn that special guests TnT will be in attendance.
With “Forsaken” shaping up to be an unforgettable event, wrestling fans in Mascoutah won’t want to miss out on this climactic end to the NGW season.
