Underage Alcohol Sting Operation in Lebanon Results in 6 Busts
On July 11, 2024, the Lebanon Police Department and the Illinois Liquor Commission conducted an undercover operation to combat the sale of alcohol to minors. Out of eleven locations tested, six sold alcohol to an underage person. The cited establishments are:
1. The Gasthaus
2. Lucy’s
3. Don’s IGA
4. Mexican Tipico
5. Lebanon BP
6. Casey’s
The involved businesses will face penalties from the Illinois Liquor Commission. This operation is held regularly throughout the state of Illinois, with the goal of preventing underage drinking and ensuring compliance with state laws.
Lebanon Police Chief David Roth spoke out in favor of these programs, stating, “We are going to continue these types of undercover operations throughout the city of Lebanon against underage drinking.”
