Traffic Accident involving Student at Lebanon School Causes Minor Injury
Lebanon – Shortly before 7:30 a.m., an elementary student was injured in the Lebanon High School parking lot when they unexpectedly ran into the crosswalk and a slow-moving vehicle made contact with their foot. Emergency responders, including police and an ambulance, were called to the scene as a precaution, but the student did not require transport to the hospital. The injury was reportedly limited to the foot and ankle, and the student is otherwise doing fine.
Lebanon School District Superintendent Dr. Matt Noyes sent the following message to parents in the district:
Dear Lebanon School District Community,
We are writing to inform you of an accidental incident that occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. in the Lebanon High School parking lot. An elementary student ran into the crosswalk unexpectedly and a slow-moving vehicle made contact with the student’s foot, resulting in an injury.
Out of an abundance of caution, both ambulance and police were called to the scene, though medical transport via ambulance was ultimately not needed. The injury appears to be limited to the foot and ankle, but the student is doing just fine otherwise.
Student safety is our highest priority. The school district is working on a plan to help guide students at this particular crosswalk to prevent similar incidents in the future. We will continue to emphasize safe pedestrian behaviors with all students and encourage parents to reinforce these important safety practices at home as well.
Thank you for your continued support.
Matt Noyes, Ed.D.
LCUSD#9 Superintendent

Also: 1) Is the newspaper continuing to follow the current financial picture of the Lebanon school district – current, short and long-terms?; 2) Is the newspaper also aware that for the upcoming general election on April 1, that the Lebanon school district will 4 vacant Board of Education seats up for election and that only 1 individual has officially filed paperwork to be on the ballot – which would then leave 3 open seats to fill after the election is completed?
The district has a Safety Committee, will the newspaper be following up on future meetings where this topic should be discussed?
Rumor has it that the driver of the vehicle involved was a teacher.
