Glenda Venarsky

Glenda Venarsky of Mascoutah Illinois passed away Sunday , August 4th 2024 at Mar-Ka Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Mascoutah, Illinois after a brief illness.

Glenda was born May 8, 1944 in Cairo, Illinois and was the daughter of Pollard and Vivian (Nunn) Finley. She lived in East Prairie, Missouri until she graduated and then moved to the St. Louis area.

Glenda married John Venarsky on December 1965 who survives. John and Glenda had two sons: John J. (Kim ) Venarsky of Marine, Illinois and Michael P Venarsky of Perth, Western Australia. Glenda is also survived by three grandchildren: Gregory Venarsky, Isabella Venarsky and Samuel Venarsky; and two sisters: Betty Archie and Paula (Ronnie) Byassee of East Prairie, Missouri.

Glenda touched many lives within the community by watching after their children, serving various positions within the Bethel United Methodist Church, and working with the local Food Bank.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Friday, August 16, 2024 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 63 W. Main St., Mascoutah, IL. Glenda’s ashes will be buried at a later date in her hometown of East Prairie, Missouri.
