Alan R. Schroeder, 63 of Peoria, IL, formerly of the Schroeder Farm in Mascoutah, born Oct. 18, 1961, in Breese, IL died Friday, March 14, 2025, at his home.

Alan was a retired mechanical engineer specialist for Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, IL.  He was a graduate from Southeran Illinois University of Edwardsville and the University of Illinois. Al’s career at Caterpillar Inc. spanned 24 years and was marked by significant contributions to fuel system engineering. Starting as a Test Engineer in Pontiac and Mossville, IL, Al excelled in fuel system performance and validation testing. His expertise led him to an international service assignment in Kiel, Germany, where he collaborated on marine engine fuel systems – working closely with the engineering and supplier teams to deliver world class products.  Al’s most recent role as an Engineering Specialist saw him integrate fuel systems across multiple products and operations in Mossville, IL; Lafayette, IN; and Seguin, TX – showcasing his dedication and impact to quality and teamwork.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Lois L., nee Stilley, Schroeder.

Alan is survived by his sister, Sharon (John) Logan of Trenton, IL; two nephews, Chris and Shane (Melissa) Logan; great nephew, Oliver Logan; three great nieces, Isabella Logan, Clair (Landon) Brown, and Holly Logan.
