Mark S. Riess, 73, of Mascoutah, IL, born June 6, 1952, in Belleville, IL died Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Belleville Memorial Hospital.

Mark was a retired coal miner.  He was a member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah, NRA, and Ducks Unlimited.

He his preceded in death by his parents, John and Katherine, nee Steehlinger, Riess, his wife, Kay Lynn, nee Coleman, Riess whom he married Sept. 28, 1974, and who died March 4, 2010, and a brother, Michael Riess.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Clarissa (Jeremy) Browning; grandsons, Boston and Kannon Browning; siblings, Paul Riess, Deanne Riess, Theresa (Dale) Friederich, and Larry Riess; sister-in-law, Linda Riess; brother-in-law, George (Vivian) Coleman; and nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: There will be no visitation.

FUNERAL: A private graveside service will be held at Mascoutah City Cemetery, Wednesday, July 2, 2025, with Father Mark Stec officiating.
