Rosalie “Rose” Elliott

Rosalie “Rose” Elliott passed away peacefully at her residence in Greensboro, GA, on February 1, 2025, at the age of 96.

Born on August 31, 1928, in Mascoutah, Illinois, Rose spent her early life there before meeting Clifford D. Elliott, whom she married on June 18, 1949. They shared 61 years together until his passing in January 2011. As a dedicated military wife, Rose lived in many places in the U.S. and abroad before she and Cliff returned to Mascoutah upon his retirement from the Air Force. Later in life, she moved away from Mascoutah to be closer to family, initially residing in Texas and eventually settling in Georgia.

Rose was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a longtime member of Holy Childhood Catholic Church in Mascoutah.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clifford Elliott, her parents, Joseph and Edna (nee Hoerdt) Heimann, her brother Charles Heimann and his wife Mary Ann Heimann, as well as her brother-in-law Jean Nodurft.

She is survived by her children: Clifford (Karen) Elliott, Michael (Valerie) Elliott, and Kathryn (Scott) Ward; her sister Helen Nodurft; her grandchildren Stephen (Rita) Ward, Joseph (Nichole) Elliott, and Keithlyn (Luis) Arceo; and her eight great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Rose had a passion for traveling and embraced every opportunity to see new places. She also loved her wine and the joy of sharing a good glass with family and friends.

Rose lived a long and fulfilling life. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with those around her.

A private interment will be held at Holy Childhood Catholic Cemetery in Mascoutah.

I want to extend my deepest condolences on Rose’s passing. She was my older cousin ,so I didn’t get to know her until I was an adult. I was lucky to have traveled with her and Helen. She was fun to be with. My son lives in Dallas area , so I was able to visit her when I visited him.
I am not able to make it to the funeral. I live in Chicago area limit my travel down state to better weather. My thoughts are with you all. Kathy Puleo

Not mentioned above but Rosalie had a great sense of humor, we had a good time with her in 2015 roaming around Baltimore. She was buddies with my mom (her cousin Patty).
